On the morning of September 23rd, the "Our Festival - Harvest Festival" 2023 China (Huludao) Gourd Culture Festival opened in Ancient Gourd Town, Northeast China. Dongmei, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Propaganda Department, attended the event and announced the opening of the cultural festival, Gang Qiang, member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, attended the event and delivered a speech, Zhang Peng, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of the Provincial Folk Literature and Art Association, attended the event, and Liu Hui, the Vice Mayor, attended the event and delivered a speech.

The culture festival is sponsored by the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Municipal Government, and guided by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee. With the theme of "Gathering in Huludao, Celebrating Good Harvest", the culture festival takes gourd as the medium and culture as the theme, and comprehensively promotes gourd culture. The event runs for 3 days from September 22 to September 24.

At the opening ceremony, Cheng Ye, the tourism and agricultural publicity ambassador of the city, released the list of "Top Ten Iconic Agricultural Products of Huludao in 2023", including Xingcheng peanuts, Xingcheng turbot, Huludao stichopus japonicus, Xingcheng Sandaogou red Fuji apple, Suizhong white pear, Suizhong big hazelnut, Jianchang Yaolugou millet, Nanpiao Shaguotun sauerkraut, Nanpiao North cold spring cucumber, Nanpiao sweet potato. During the event, online activities such as "Secret of Treasure Gourd", where famous literary and artistic artists on the island talked about the city and gourd culture, and "A Bosom Friend Afar Brings a Distant Land Near" - Huludao people across the world talks freely about their hometown.
